Red wine, in perspective

Dark fruit, colour and tannin; available alone or in blends. These are tasting signposts, not a description of every bottle.

Malbec is listed in Cullen’s estate and Mangan vineyards. Regional or vineyard source.

What to ask at a tasting

Look for both varietal bottlings and blends. Ask what proportion of Malbec is present and whether the wine was designed for early drinking. A blend can be an excellent introduction even when a standalone bottle is unavailable.

Choosing a bottle for the table

Try savoury grilled dishes or slow-cooked vegetables. If you enjoy generous fruit but dislike very drying tannins, say so at the tasting: the producer can guide you towards a suitable release.

These are our pairing suggestions, not fixed rules. Vintage, winemaking and your own preferences matter.
